Baby Week Leeds 2016

The journey starts with a baby step...

Baby Week Leeds launched in September 2016 and is an initiative aimed at bringing sectors and services together to promote the Best Start in life.

Funded by Leeds Clinical Commissioning Group, Baby Week was inspired by a research visit to Canela (Brazil) by Churchill fellow Lucy Potter (Founder) in 2014. Originally adapted from the Brazilian ‘Semana do Bebe’, Leeds hosted the first English speaking week. With a steering group of representatives from Leeds Beckett University, Child Friendly Leeds,  Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust, Children Centre Services, University of Leeds, Health Visitors, City of Sanctuary, and Home Start, a real sense of partnerships and collaboration led to the success of the week.
