Thursday 15th November 2018 Day Four of Baby Week

On the calendar Thursday was set aside for the children’s centres and activities taking place within the city.

Lucy and Sadiya visited a number of places including Play and Learn centre in Middleton where there was Little Explorers and Baby Massage.

Baby Week is a week to celebrate family services and an opportunity to promote other sectors including Home-Start . Gayle a representative from this service was travelling over the city throughout the week helping to promote the Home-Start program helping to offer volunteer support to families in the city.

Sonya Children’s Centre manager said

‘We don’t do anything different than what you usually do, but Baby Week helps us to celebrate what we do with the families – it’s really lovely!’

Beeston Library invited Rory the story teller read stories and sing rhymes to a captive young audience. Rachel Benn (libraries lady) promoted their Ready Steady Read after the session had ended. She said this has been a great opportunity to promote the new program to help get more young reader ready for school.

Lucy then visited Farsley and Calverley Children’s Centre to see their work and managed to talk to some parents about the following events in the city including the Light on Saturday.
